Cubaris Murina

The Cubaris Murina "Little Sea" isopod is ubiquitous in Thailand, and you will find them under any stone or branch you overturn.
 

This species is hardy and breeds well, making it a good choice for beginners. Little Sea Isopods are also prone to giving birth to some stunning morphs.

The Cubaris Murina Papaya is a more colourful version of the Little Sea. They share the same hardiness and rapid breeding as their cousins, making them a good choice for beginners.

Cubaris Glacier

The Cubaris Murina Glacier is an albino variety of the Cubaris Murina Little Sea. These isopods are white, although their diets affect their colouration.
 

A unique feature of these isopods is that their eyes are all but invisible to the human eye. However, they can still see as well as other isopods.

Dairy Cows are one of the most popular isopod species available. Their popularity is largely due to their easy-to-keep nature and bold personalities. 

Dairy Cows are also known for their penchant for protein and will feast on any dead insect or other animal you find.

This small to mid-sized isopod is lively, reproduces quickly and is easy to care for. Their colouration makes them suitable for show, while their rapid breeding means they can make a good choice as a feeder.

Agnara Madagascariensis is another small species that’s common in Thailand. This species shows sexual dimorphism, with females coming in a uniform grey and males in red with a grey stripe.
 

They are steady breeders and have a penchant for faeces, making them a good choice as a clean-up crew.

Armadillidium Peraccae originates from Greece and has a historic appearance. They are sturdy, prolific breeders and make excellent clean-up crews.

Armadillidium Burminiscus is a dwarf species with some unique characteritics. In addition to it's distinctive appearance, this isopod also makes effective clean up crew

 

With its shiny exterior and longer than usual rear end, this isopod can easilly be mistaken for a silverfish at first glance.

Armadallidium Gestroi

Armadillidium Gestroi is a colourful Isopod that originates from Italy. Its appearance makes it a good choice as a display species.

 

This isopod is known for being slow to start reproducing. However, once they feel comfortable in their new home, their population will soar.

The Striped Dwarf Grey isopod has been a very popular clean up crew in the past.


This species tends to blend in with its settings while its goes about its cleaning chores. As a prolific breeder, this isopod also makes a good choice as a feeder for young and small predators.

Dryadillo Nilipat

This species originates from the north of Thailand and is quite uncommon in the hobby. Its relative rarity has made its identity difficult confirm, but some experts have identified it as Armadillidium Nilipat.

 

Armadillidium Nilipat is a prolific breeder when conditions are right.

The Dwarf White isopod is tiny but has a huge reputation. This species has often been the go-to species for clean up crew and for some very good reasons.

The Dwarf White is renowned for reproducing rapidly and will populate a vivarium quickly. However, they tend to remain beneath the surface so you won't see them often. This species is also often kept as a feeder for small predators.
